BARENATE HCR, derived from castor oil, is a substance obtained through hydrogenation. Castor oil, extracted from the seeds of the castor plant, is a natural vegetable oil. After hydrogenation, the unsaturated fatty acids in castor oil are converted into saturated fatty acids, resulting in a more stable, solidified oil with enhanced oxidation resistance. The product appears as a white to light yellow powder, chunk, or flakes, with limited solubility in methylene chloride, very slightly soluble in ethanol, and insoluble in water.
